Kontact Groupware Time Zones Off

Hi All,

I have a Citadel server running that I'm backing Kontact onto. Citadel is a groupware client that uses the GroupDAV protocol. I've run into a problem with the time zones of events in that they show up in my Kontact calendar two hours behind.

Some background: the server stores event times in UTC time and the application is responsible for converting them on the fly. The web-based calendar uses libcal to do this and it works well. Kontact, however, doesn't convert them correctly.

I know this is a Kontact problem because I've backed Sunbird onto my Citadel installation and my appointments show up correctly in Sunbird. I only see one setting in Kontact and that's the Setting -> Configure Kontact -> Date and Time screen. I have my correct time zone set in there.

This gets a little weirder in that I would have thought a simple workaround would be to just set my time zone in Kontact two hours ahead. However, when I do that, the appointments in my Kontact calendar leap to 6 hours ahead of when they're scheduled for.

I'm pretty sure this is a bug in Kontact, but I don't know what to do about it. I've tried the Kontact channel in Freenode, but nobody seems to want to speak to me the three times I've been in there.

Does anyone have any insight into what the problem might be and, if it is a bug, where I might go about finding more information about it?

Thanks!

J
