Hi, I'm trying to configure kmail but it always say "could not connect to host 'pop.videotron.ca'" (which is my isp). But I have the exact same setting in Outlook Express and everything works fine. Anybody had this problem before ?

My internet browser works fine,
Kopete works fine,
KNode works fine (news.videotron.ca)
So I don't think it has something to do with the internet connection...

The error you have is "could not connect to host 'pop.videotron.ca'".
Your internet connection is OK as you can use your browser.
So the fault lies with kmail logging in to your mail server - it cannot for some reason. I assume you have checked that your UN and PW are correct.
Try going to Kmail->Settings->Configure Kmail ->Network->Sending-Modify->Security
Set encryption to "None"
Play with the settings for "Authentication Method" - I need to have Plain selected (but I am not using videotron).

Can you send mail now? If not, change the settings and try again.

Now do the same for receiving mail:
Go to to Kmail->Settings->Configure Kmail ->Network->Receiving->Modify->Extras and play with these settings until you get it right.
