KDE and Show mount icons on desktop

I dont know if there is a way but I thought I would give it a shot and see if anyone can help me out.

I have a DVDROM and a DVDRW drive. Both are recongnized by KDE as CD-ROMs, no big deal. If I choose to show unmounted and mounted CDROM drives from CC/Behavior under the device icons tab, they do show up on my desktop but they are labelled with the entire mountpoint and device name. It looks incredible ugly and I want to find a way to rename them as a simple right click and rename does not work.

What I would ideally like is to get them registered under KDE as what they truly are. Any help would be awesome.

Running KDE 3.3.1

Thanks.
