K3b Quit Working--Assertion Failed Error

For some reason K3b just quit working. I have used it to copy CDs before and now I am getting this error:

Assertion `frac >= 0 && frac < 75' failed.

What the heck does that mean?

Did you update K3b? Without updating KDE? Did you update KDE? Without updating K3b? Did you update Mandrake (with security patches or something)?

At what point does this error occur? When you open the program? When you try to copy the CD itself? Does it occur with other CDs than the one you're failing to copy? Does it occur if you try to do something else with K3b other than copy a CD, such as burn a data or audio CD?

Generally, programs don't "just quit working"... something has changed on your system so that the program no longer has an environment that it can work in. It may also be that the CD you're trying to copy is not copy-able due to some kind of protection/encryption.

I got all the latest patches and upgraded to kernel 2.6.3-7. The CD I am copying I have copied several times. I haven't changed anything else. I will try upgrading K3b and cdrtools, etc. and see if that helps.

Thanks,
Ted.

Never mind. I got X-CDroast to work. I'm tired of fighting with K3b to install, update, run...

Developers should provide all the dependencies they use for their programs. Few of us have time to spend days trying to install a piece of software.

Later.
