Installing zsnes.

Hey guys, I'm having a little problem here...

I'm trying to install zsnes, the super nintendo emulator.

I've downloaded the file, and downloaded and installed it's dependencies.

I ran ./configure, and it ran fine, and at the end said

You may now run make to compile zsnes
Make sure you use GNU make when compiling.

SO I do make and get this...

bash-2.05b# make
/usr/local/bin/nasm -w-orphan-labels -D__LINUX__ -f elf -DELF -D__OPENGL__ -o chips/sfxproc.o chips/sfxproc.asm
nasm: unrecognised option `-D'
nasm: unrecognised option `-D'
nasm: unrecognised option `-D'
type `nasm -h' for help
make: *** [chips/sfxproc.o] Error 1
bash-2.05b#

I don't get this...any help is appreciated.

It won't compile...period. Zsnes, even though it's the best Snes emu I've ever tried, seems to compile randomly. Save yourself sometime, grab an .rpm and convert it to .tgz using rpm2tgz or Alien. Take a look in here:

http://rpm.pbone.net/

Regards!

Hey, I got the rpm and did 'rpm2tgz zsnes-1.42.blahblahblah.

Then used kpackage to install the tgz, and when I do zsnes in my app launcher nothing happens. and when I do it in command line it says

root@slackware:~# zsnes
zsnes: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I don't know what to make of it. Anyone know what's going on?

Whenever I see such a message, I go to www.slackware.com/pb and type in the name of the file. In this case, libstdc++.so.6. Or do a google. Find out which dependency it belongs to, and install it.

Incidentally, have you read the README?
