installed gcc with java language enabled.. but no gcj !
im using gentoo...
i rirst had "-java" in my use flags while compiling gentoo.... but now i need java support in my compiler... (i need to compile java programs to native code)
so i have this commmand to re-compile gcc
USE="java" emerge gcc
gcc was re-compiled... but no gcj program !
i tried adding java to my default USE flags in /etc/make.conf
same result !
this is SOOO ANNOYING !
does anyone know whats gone wrong ?
im going to have to install gcc manually and keep 2 gcc installations on my system !
I saw the use Flag too ! but enabling it didnt help.
ive still not found a solution to this problem. maybe its a bug in the ebuilds for GCC ?
and the problem is it takes a whole GCC re-compile (takes ages on my machine) to find out if the latesst emerge --sync fixes it.
seems no-1 uses gcj ?
ive given up and started using sun's JDK javac byte code compiler.
