installation of RHEL-4 Update 3

i am a test engineer new to the Linux world. i already have a system running RHEL-4 update 2. now i need to install RHEL-4 Update 3 on the same machine keeping update 2 as it is. can someone tell if i can install update 3 on the same machine on a different partition. Another question.. can someone give me a link on how to setup a proxy server and a DNS server.

No, you can't have it both ways. Going from update 2 to update 3 is simply installing a bunch of RPMs from Redhat Network. For DNS server go to http://www.isc.org/
