I want more packages

First off that you all the first time for helping me install Linux..

In Mandrake's graphical install, you can choose the packages to install (office, server, games, etc.), and the only way that I got it all the way threw installation was to choose only the minimal stuff (linux, GUIs, etc.)... But now I want to add more packages like the Servers and Databases ... I dont want to have to reinstall completly, so any help would be appreciated ...

thanks in advance

Just run the Package Manager icon on the desktop, or rpmdrake from a console.

load up them cd's and you can install them from there.. usually in rpm format..

command to use:

rpm -iv name-of-file-to-install.rpm

or acid_kewpie's suggestion also works..

not sure on the icon for packages.. i don't use mandrake, i'll leave that one to acid_kewpie for ya..

but what kind of card is it..?? if it detected it, you can use netconfig at a terminal prompt to setup your network card is the easiest I have found to use.
also you can check its status with the ifconfig command.
man ifconfig for more details.
also you might want to look at the ethernet howto at www.linuxdoc.org lots of good info in that howto to get your eth working.
