I Need Your Opinion

I have a 60 gig hard drive that has a Linux OS on it. I would like to resize and create a new partition on it and keep the OS. Has any one used "Qtparted" for such an operation and have you had any sucess or failures ?

I know I will have to do back ups first.

All suggestions, comments, and opinions are welcome,
jerry

for obnscar:
I got burnt with parted in SuSE 9.2 (parted had a bug) and I don't know if anyone ever fixed it. This parted bug came with Red Hat so it's been around Linux versions.
The safest bet is to partition with W98 ( or down load free Partition Magic) as a FAT 32 and then install Linux in the new FAT32 partition. This FAT32 also helps if your thinking of using XP NTFS as a dual boot w/linux. REMEMBER that linux will not write well to NTFS but only read NTFS files. Linux works well with FAT32.

You are correct paul_e_t, I just found out after I posted this that it still has a bug and resize is not a good thing to do with Qtparted. My computers are 100 per cent Linux so I think I will use a Linux install distro to resize and format and then stop the installation.

I have always liked the looks of Qtparted, and wanted to use that but there must not be any development going on with it, the clone of Partition Magic must have not liked Linux...................LOL
