i installed winrar but i can't see the icon anywhere, is there a way to see it??
I just installed winrar in linux ubuntu and it runned perfectly. I closed the window and now i can't seem to find an icon or a way to open it, i know it is well installed because it worked just fine a couple of minutes ago but now i can't find it. Anyone knows how to execute it or find the icon?!?!?!
Open a console or terminal and do an updatedb and then do a locate or which <command-name> to locate it's default installation directory. I'm assuming it's going to be in /usr/bin or the like but could go elsewhere. Then whatever desktop you're using, edit your start menu to add link, etc.
It should be available under Applications -> Wine -> Programs -> WinRAR on your GNOME menus. You can right-click on the menu entry and add to desktop or add to panel if you want to get to it more quickly in the GUI.
