How to make a packet sniffer works on linux?

Hello, usually i need to use packet sniffers and things like that to test, im depelover.
I just changed my OS to linux some time ago and im not able to use WPE PRO as example. (Running it via WINE)
I can open WPE correctly but when i try to attach it to a aplication, the aplication crashes.
Supposedly when i attach the WPE to a process, it will check four system network apis (send/recv/connect/closesocket in WS2_32.dll).
I tried installing that .dll (i didnt find another solution, i dont know how does linux works, worst WIne).
But it keeps crashing.
A friend told me its because there is something wrong at hook point checking.
Any posible solution?
BTW Excuse my english ;D.

Hello,

What are your intensions with this program? And why would you try to use windows software on linux, especially when there are other programs just like this made for linux, that are even better?

Cheers,

Josh

Use WireShark. It's better than some very expensive hardware sniffers I've used. Check your distribution repositories; most have it for easy installation.
