Hello All

I am very new to linux as of about 2 days. I installed suse 9.3 and am trying to bring up the kde control center. when i click on the prefrences link that i added to the panel and then select control center nothing happens also i added a system icon to the panel and when i click on this and select settings..it looks like it is going to load then tells me unknown settings folder.
like for some reason not all of the files loaded correctly for the control center and settings folder.. aslo i am unable to bring up yast to be able to try to reinstall the kde or install gnome.
can anyone give advise on witch folder i could look in to find the install folders for gnome or kde or even how to reinstall it without yast? Any help would be appreciated as i am very interested in using linux but am a bit confused. also this is a dual boot win xp pro.Thanks in advance. X25

Open up Konsole and type su - this means Swictch User and will, after you've put your root password in , give you admin privileges.
Next, type yast.
This should get Yast started from where you can install further software easily.
