Having problems installing php5-curl

Hi guys, I already have php5 installed but when I try to install php5-curl to use magento I get this message,

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
php5-curl : Depends: php5-common (= 5.3.3-1ubuntu9) but 5.3.3-1ubuntu9.1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

Is there anyway around this? I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 desktop.

I encountered some php problems when working with a rather fresh ubuntu release a while ago. Maybe this problem will be fixed by ubuntu soon. A way around that is to install zend server (zend.com) that may use it's own php version. They will provide you with a debian style repository and you'll have a running system soon...

Another approach is to compile apache and php yourself with all options you need.

of course there is. Get the sources from apache.org and php.net and compile them yourself the way you need it. You'll find tutorials on that everywhere.
