Googleearth linux bin crash with kubuntu 10.04

When loading the GoogleEarthLinux.bin, the software states it has loaded correctly.
If starting either from dialog box or using a console the software crashes.
Has anyone had any success with this and kubuntu, I had a similar thing happen when experiemnting with kubuntu 9.10 where as the Googleearth bin file works well with ubuntu.

There's a thread somewhere on LQ that says if you click the "Don't show startup tips" box before it has had time to crash, it then works.

I tried this, and it worked for me, but it took a few attempts before I was fast enough.

Another suggestion is to get GE from the Medibuntu repository, rather than trying to install it yourself.

Many thanks, I updated my repository list with Medibuntu and now have a working version of GE.
