GIMP 1.3.23 will not print. When I tell it to, a status bar runs across the bottom of the image and it appears to be sending the data, but nothing comes out of the printer. I'm using CUPS, running Slack 9.1. Perhaps this will help someone knowledgable.
Code:

I checked on the Gimp-Print plug-in at Sourceforge, but it says
Quote:
The Print plug-in for the GIMP requires the Gimp 1.2. The Gimp 1.3
is not supported at this time.

Well, you could always check your CUPS logs (/var/logs/cups/error_log) and see where it is breaking down. However, if GIMP 1.3 isn't supported for printing yet, you may be stuck.

Thanks for your response.
Let me first add, in case someone else reads this thread,
that the correct path has no s on the end of log ->
mingdao@paul:Sat Feb 28 22:24:29/var/log/cups$
I deleted all the old text in that file, as it was quite long,
and I only wanted to see the error from an attempt to
print with GIMP. After going through the steps of printing
from GIMP again, the file is empty.
The only file in that directory which has information is this:
Well, I think all that the access_log tells you is that it tried to print. If the error_log is empty, you might have a look in the CUPS http interface(http://localhost:631) and see if there are any records of the print jobs there. I think that is usually just a reflection of the data in error_log, but it might shed some light on the subject. Without an error message, we're kinda hosed.

We're hosed - there's nothing there, either. Although I am having random
crashes with my Slack system, now. :{ My Mozilla Firebird browser crashed out.
I had the CUPS interface open, a LQ tab, and my bank's site. I clicked on
a link within a page and Firebird just crashed. Had the same thing happen
with Scribus last night many times. Enough to quit using it. Very disappointing, :{
