gftp error: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock

I just installed gftp-2.0.17. Before gftp I installed glib-2.4.6, pango-1.4.1, and gtk+-2.4.9. When I try opening gftp it's giving me an error (and not starting):

eric@QuickStrike:~$ gftp
/usr/local/bin/gftp-gtk: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/bin/gftp-gtk: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock

What should I do?
