fluxbox and rox

ok so i was trying out flux with fbdesk and things are quite right there. i read somewhere that rox is a good alternative to fbdesk, but my understanding was that you can use rox in conjunction with fluxbox. is this true? if so, how do you use it as your desktop manager? i quickly went through the tutorial on the rox.sourceforget site, but i don't get how they piece in together.

rox is a file manager which has pin board capabilities which allows you to customize your flux desktop, and use icons and stuff...i've never used it, but the link has a pretty good explanation of what it does.
