flipscreen3d - works fine in screensaver-capplet, goes into wiremap otherwise...

Here's what happens when I try to run it from a terminal in X:

Code:
bash-2.05b$ /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver/flipscreen3d
xscreensaver-getimage: grabDesktopImages:  False
xscreensaver-getimage: grabVideoFrames:    False
xscreensaver-getimage: chooseRandomImages: True
xscreensaver-getimage: imageDirectory:     /home/Rob/Pictures/Estella Warren/tmb
xscreensaver-getimage: executing: xscreensaver-getimage-file --verbose --name /home/Rob/Pictures/Estella Warren/tmb
xscreensaver-getimage: loading "/home/Rob/Pictures/Estella Warren/tmb/12520.jpg"
xscreensaver-getimage: scaling image by 58% (1024x768 -> 600x450)
xscreensaver-getimage: displaying 600x450 image at 0,15.
flipscreen3d: error mipmapping 1024x512 texture: (unknown)
flipscreen3d: turning on -wireframe.
It looks the same whether I include -window or not, it always goes to the wiremap. When I run the command su'ed, I get this message:

Code:
bash-2.05b# /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver/flipscreen3d -window
flipscreen3d: error mipmapping 1024x512 texture: (unknown)
flipscreen3d: turning on -wireframe.
Now when I use the menu to choose the screensavers and preview them, it previews fine. I'm using X11.org from the Slackware-Current branch, if that helps any.
