Konqueror has a "Midnight Commander" profile for managing files. How close it comes to what you want, I don't know, having never used that particular profile, and not having used MC for 2 years ... Besides that, I don't know if Konqueror can be used as stand-alone application without loading KDE.

I don't think it's working.....lol I had to post a new thread to update the details I guess.
looks like it's working fine, what you think ?

lol I think this was too long............lmfao
this looks shorter.....but still......

as you can see KDE/GNOME is not what I have in mind, thanks.

im more into the basic feature-less stuff like Fluxbox, and I don't use gkrellm, and use torsmo instead for monitoring ot save resources (kde/gnome take half of my ram, gkrellm takes half of that which leaves me with 128 MB to run doom3 on....)

midnight commander doesn't work for me, because of a similar problem (home, end, page up/down), no idea how to fix this, because page up is showing me console output before I ran midnight commander, I am using X Northern Captain at the moment but it's not as good as the real thing , it you have any other recommendations they would be most appreciated.
