Fedora 4. downloading and installing patches?

Do Fedora users use rpm through suggested channels to download patches? I am trying out Fedora 4.0, but am having difficulty actually installing patches after I download them with rpm. Rpm freezes and I have to force it closed. What is this about?

Does this mean I don't have enough space in the partitions that I set up?

Thank you.

Not sure what does that mean.

Patches shouldn't be a problem until all dependencies are solved.
Moreover, how much space your Hard disk has, and what is the partitioning setup?

If you have a fast net connection, use yum instead of manually downloading patches,
Code:
#yum upgrade

It's working now

It is working now. I had to custom partition. I followed this formula that I found in a manual. Any suggestions on partitioning strategies? Everything is working well. Fedora 4's Gnome desktop is much faster than Suse 9.3's KDE. Suse takes four to five times as long at boot (literally).

/boot 80MB
swap 1500MB
/ 18G
/home rest of hard drive (approx. 60 G)

Thank you for your help.
