I have cable, but i have been haveing problems with it lately. When i first got it it would go 2.7mb and after 3 months it now goes only 1.7mb. I also recieve very high ping times when i play enemy territory, or RTCW online. ping time around 600-800 and occasionly a 999. Is there any way to make my connection better?

i get the same problem, have u had any success yet? give me ur update. At first i thought it was a problem with the file ui.mp.x86.so or something but it was just searching for it in multiple places. Give me your terminal output once it crashes also by running "et" at the command prompt.

No Succes yet, It is a connection problem i think. My cable service has been pretty crappy lately. The game does not crash it just disconnects from the server when level changes.

I was thinking...Do you think it is servers that have not updated to the 1.01 patch yet?
i was looking at the read me and i found this
1. Server Stability Issues:
===========================

We've made a few adjustments that will help with server side stability and should help to remedy unexpected server timeouts.

.....it looks like our problem. How new is this patch? why have people not updated there servers yet?
