Downloading Linux software


If I download linux software to a Windows machine then transfer it to linux will I always need to use Dos2Unix to convert it?

no, dos2unix just removes <CR>'s from text files, nothing more nothing less. you'll never generally need to use it, unless you have a strange addiction to windows notepad.
