EDIT 2021-Nov-11: Re: never mind
So Nvidia's Readme file says it should be "true / false", but don't say if the 1st letter should be upper / lower case, or either.
Thanks mrmazda,
Code:
cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.4.0-58-generic root=UUID=3f39e48d-c9c8-4471-a437-0f8929221b11 ro quiet splash
Yes.

by "Nvidia" do you mean your GPU, or the installed kernel and/or display driver(s)?

Yes, no, and yes. Nvidia GPU; Nvidia proprietary drivers v340.108 (recommended by LM Driver Mgr).
Nvidia installed a pretty extensive settings UI, but no setting for "Show / Don't Show Splash", as some software, hardware have.
The question is fairly simple, but there are diff answers (even sites like
https://wiki.archlinux.org/ - on what key should be used to show the Option "NoLogo" is enabled or disabled. As said, using NO value let the splash screen continue, every 4th or 7th?? boot. Using
"1" (as one site suggested), stopped it from booting into Mint at all. Took a while to find why boot was failing; - because " '1' isn't a valid entry for... Nvidia option..."
The splash doesn't appear every boot, or each new day, but displays for several sec., when it does.
Without adding the option to xorg.conf to stop Nvidia's splash, the boot process is fine. If no one here knows the answer off top of their head, I'll try contacting Nvidia or EVGA.
