copy old windows disk into qemu?

I had an old computer which ran Windows 95. I would like to run this system under my linux using qemu or something similar. I hooked up the hard drive from the windows into my Debian computer, and used partimage to create a disk image of it. However, when I try to boot the image in qemu, it says that the disk is not bootable.

Does anyone know why this is happening, and how I can fix it? I'm running Debian Lenny.

Thanks so much!

As long as you don't connect it to the 'net?..

Maybe you imaged the partition instead of the disk (missing Master Boot Record and Partition Table)? Else what's the exact output QEmu shows you? What does running 'qemu-img info', 'fdisk -l' (and 'disktype' if you have it) say, running those on the image?

You should check if it is legal - read the EULA.

It should be, but I'll check. All I did is move the harddrive, I'm not installing it multiple times.
