I really don't know what the fuck is wrong.
I have an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station at home. I need to configure it wirelessly. My laptop, running (K)ubuntu has no issue with recognising it and connecting to it. I downloaded the configurator tool, and got Java installed. I know it is installed right because I play games on it. I use the command
$java -jar /wireless/configurator.jar
and the program opens. But it runs extremely slow. As for the modem utilities, the noswing .jar file runs decent and the standard doesn't.
I'm no able to retrieve or set the settings with the configurator, so I don't know if either modem utility is working.
When I do a discover devices, it can't find any. I also tried a windows app under wine w/ the same results.
ping -b 10.0.1.0
returns 10.0.1.1 and 10.0.1.2 as being active.
*.1 is reserved for computers directly connected
*.2 is where mine should be.
In firefox
http://10.0.1.0
access denied
http://10.0.1.1
host unreachable #it should be
http://10.0.1.2
Caudium #built in web server
A little more to the point,
I can get my laptop to recognise and connect to my Airport Extreme Base Station, but I can't get any programs to be able to configure it.
