ClamAV & KlamAV - Slackware system crashes
Hi
I installed ClamAV & the KlamAV gui frontend last night.
The ClamAV side seems to work without any problems, but after KlamAV was installed, once I start KDE 3.5.4, the system seems to hang, if I click on any applications (firefox, thunderbird, even a bash shell), the application either takes ages (over 5 minutes), or doesn't start at all.
This only happens if I enable the Dazuko when it asks for the root password at KDE startup.
If I don't enable it, everything works without problem, applications starts in seconds.
If I do enable it, but disable Autoscan, I don't have a problem, its only when Dazuko is started and KlamAV's autoscan is running.
As I was having problems, I wanted to disable or uninstall it permanently and I'll just stick with using ClamAV from command line, but the desktop icon to uninstall KlamAV that it says its going to put on the desktop doesn't appear as a user, and if I log in as root to KDE, it gives an error message that I can't remember the day after. I can post that tonight when I get home from work if it helps.
Can anybody offer a suggestion on what might be the problem running KlamAV with Autoscan switched on and how to solve it, or alternatively, how I can uninstall KlamAV & Dazuko. KlamAV doesn't appear in package manager, I didn't look for Dazuko in the list as I was getting fed up & needed sleep.
Thanks in advance
