Changing what File Manger Libre Office uses - Mint

I'm having to work with a damaged screen and when Libre Office is opening a file too much of the file path is not visible to me.

I'm using Mint 21 with the Cinnamon desktop installed, except I've added Fluxbox and boot into that because it's a quite weak laptop. I seem to be able to make PCManFM open where I need it to for visibility and would like Libre Office to use that and not Nemo.

I suspect if I uninstalled Nemo it'd take too much with it and I don't want to experiment.

There doesn't seem to be a way to do this in Libre Office. Perhaps there's some command to put into the terminal?

When I googled this it seemed as if it's a question that people don't or can't answer.

Thanks for any response.

(I financially can't replace anything.)

LO can use either internal file chooser or a system one - this is configured in LO's options in LibreOffice-General. If this is not enough, system file chooser can be customised e.g. GTK3 file chooser you'll probably find on you system uses this dconf schema https://fossies.org/linux/gtk+/gtk/o...er.gschema.xml which can be adjusted with GUI dconf-editor or commandline gsettings. Finally you can replace the system file chooser with something else like described e.g. here https://babarowski.com/blog/change-g...o-kde-dolphin/ but this will affect all programs.

If you are struggling to open a file because of limited screen visibility. You might try launching Libreoffice from the terminal and specify the file name in the command. https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/...arameters.html

I believe you can use the touch command to create a new empty file that you could then open with Libreoffice. I guess the "New>Text Document" menu in the right click menu of most file managers would work as well.
