Cannot start VNC Server

Running RealVNC on a Knoppix 3.4 box, it is headless (no keyboard, no mouse).

I was using VNC yesterday, when I lost connection. I SSH into it, stop the server and
tried to restart it, but now I'm getting this error message:

[code]
./vncserver
vncserver: couldn't find 'vncpasswd on your PATH.
[/code[

This can't be right because echo $PATH show /usr/bin in my PATH.

What has happened to cause this?

How can I fix this so I can get VNC Server going again?

thanks

can you prove that vncpassword is on your system? the user running that service is probably not your own user, but they should usually still have a path ok. it's possible to edit the startup script to reference the absolute location of vncpasswd, e.g. /usr/bin/vncpasswd. it's better to try reinstalling the server package first though.

I only use stable apt-get sources for this box, since it is a server for me.

I just ran apt-get and there were a ton of packages that were upgraded, and now the VNC server started just fine.

This is really bizarre...Not sure what to make of this?
