Can I load GIMP in english ? (only gimp)

Heya, I kinda like that the Linux systems are translated into all these languages, but the problem is that the translation of the GIMP contains so many never-used danish words that im going mad, I can't navigate around ! Anyway is there some way to load the GIMP up in english ?

Cause also all the tutorials for the gimp are english id presume, and I want to learn how to use this program.

Thanks in advance!

Depends on whether gimp has any special internationalization files. If it does, I would just remove the danish ones and it should default to english.

Another thing that might work is to use

env LC_ALL=en_US gimp

to start gimp from the command line (or just edit the entries in the menus accordingly). The command sets an environmental variable for a particular program without changing it globally. Or maybe it is

env LANG=en_US gimp

You can check out the potentially relevant enviromental variables in your ~/.i18n or, if this doesn't exist, in /etc/sysconfig/i18n
