Unhappy Can't find ldap_mapper.so for RHEL 5 smart card authentication

Hi everyone,

I am trying to configure a RHEL 5.4 x86_64 workstation for smart card authentication to an LDAP server. I have local authentication using cn_map working with pam_pkcs11-0.5.3.23.el5.x86_64, however, when I switch to the ldap_mapper I receive the error that the ldap_mapper.so library cannot be found. The changelog for the pam_pkcs11 package says

"Add ldap_mapper.so as separate package, as it depends on external library"

The only problem is I cannot find this package anywhere!

Does anyone know how I can find/install the ldap_mapper.so package?

Thanks,

breds

Welcome to LQ.

Please try $ rpm -ql pam_pkcs11 | grep ldap_mapper.so

( In the EL 6 package the location is : /usr/lib64/pam_pkcs11/ldap_mapper.so
... so I guess that it would be the same for EL 5.)

knudfl,

Thanks for the welcome and the quick reply. I have tried searching for the file after installing the pam_pkcs11 package but it is not on the filesystem. The internet searches I have done also do not show the file as being included in the package. An example can be found here:

http://pkgs.org/centos-5-rhel-5/cent...86_64.rpm.html

The changelog says the ldap_mapper.so should be added as a separate package but I have no idea how to get that package. I was hoping someone had run into this issue before and has a solution or a recommendation.

Sorry, only the el6 version ( 0.6.2 ) includes "ldap_mapper.so".

Solution : rpmbuild --rebuild pam_pkcs11-0.6.2-11.1.el6.src.rpm ,
if possible. http://vault.centos.org/6.2/os/Sourc....1.el6.src.rpm

( There exists no such package as ldap_mapper.so ).

I will install the 0.6.2 version and let you know if it works. I am using a RHEL 5.4 machine so my understanding was that they would be incompatible. It is definitely worth a shot, though.

Thanks for your help.

'rpmbuild --rebuild pam_pkcs11-0.6.2-11.1.el6.src.rpm'
means that an el5 package gets created, if the build succeeds.

Talking

knudfl,

Thanks for your suggestions. I was able to rebuild the source and get the new package to work on RHEL 5.4.

Thanks again!
