Hi Guys,

I have read the posts already on here about the " C preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check" error. I have followed everything people have said about having the right things installed. But no luck.

This is what i have got installed i did the whereis command:

gcc: /usr/bin/gcc /usr/lib/gcc /usr/libexec/gcc /usr/share/man/man1/gcc.1.gz

g++: /usr/include/g++

cpp: /usr/bin/cpp /lib/cpp /usr/share/man/man1/cpp.1.gz

c++: /usr/include/c++

Okay i have struggled with this for about 6 hours now with no fix or result. I have tried installing gcc g++ c++ cpp again and again but it still doesn't work.

My system in fedora core 3 64 bit. Can anyone help or at least give me some clues on what this could be?

have you compiled a custom kernel??

that "sanity check error" usually means that the gcc version you have installed IS NOT the gcc version used to compile the current running kernel.......

Okay, how can i check what my kernal was compiled with ie the version of gcc. Whats the command?
