Question boot options


hey!
i have not a problem whit my linux but i have some problem, i use mandrake 9.1 and i want to know how i do to modifi the boot meny, i want to have win 2k as "first os" and redhat as "secound os" and remove the other options like windows 2 and the other boot options, i don't know why i can find 2indows 2 in the boot meny because i have only win 2k and mandkre linux 9.1 and no os more. please answer my question

The config file for the lilo bootloader is /etc/lilo.conf. The file for the grub bootloader is /etc/grub.conf. Just delete the paragraph referring to the entry you don't want if you want to remove entries. I don't think you can put spaces in lilo, so you should use Win2k instead of Win 2k. For lilo, run "lilo" to apply the changes. The man page for lilo's config is lilo.conf. Look at grub's info page (it will be more comprehensive compared to it's manual page).

And in a graphical way (KDE) go to mandrake control center/boot manager/LILO setup and delete the entries refering to another operative systems 'installed', also setup windows 2000 as default.
being aware about where your operative systems (the real ones) are installed (hda1, hda5, hdb1,...etc)

And if you want Win2k as the default OS then simply change the

default=..............

directive near the top of lilo.conf to the label name of the Win2k stanza.
