Black Screen Appears Instead Of PDF File In-Browser, Fedora 15, Gnome3
When attempting to view pdf files in-browser, all that appears is an empty black box. I have not tried any on-disk files. I am running Fedora 15, Gnome 3, have an AMD Phenom II x6 1090T processor, 4gb RAM, onboard graphics. I do not know what the problem is, if there is additional software to install, or perhaps something ith my hardware?

Ok, first there are several questions that need to be answered.
1) Which web browser are you using?
2) What is the version of the web browser are you using?
3) Have you installed Adobe Acrobat for Linux or are you using Okular or another PDF viewer?
4) Since posting have you tried to open any on-disk PDF files?
Now, if you are using Firefox5/6/7 then you will need to install the Adobe Acrobat for Linux to correct the probelm, or at least my experience has shown that the only way to solve this issue is to install Acrobat for Linux. I am using openSuSE 11.3 and had that issue about the Time that Firefox updated to version 7. I found that any PDF file that was made on a Windows based computer would either cause Firefox PDF viewer to hang, produce a black screen, or a white screen, but would never display the contents.
If that does not resolve the issue then please provide the Web browser you are having issues with, along with a link to the file(if possible) to verify the contents.
You might be able to get convince evince to open within Firefox by installing mozplugger
Code:
yum install mozplugger
and then following the directions here. I haven't tried to do this in quite a while. In the past, I found that sometimes it worked, and some times it didn't.
Im using Firefox 7.1. I have Mozplugger installed. I attempted to install Adobe Reader, but it wouldn't work. I followed the instructions, have the .so file in the mozilla/plugins folder, but it does not appear under (in browser) Tools -> Add-Ons -> Plugins like it should.

OK, I just found this post on a Fedora Project Forum, and it would appear that there is a bug in the mozplugger. Here is the forum post from 2 Nov.
Thanks!I couldn't find evince, even though YUM says that it is installed and updated already. But I was able to find adobe reader then, and that works great.
