Best image viewer for very large image files?
Hello there,
I'm looking for an image viewer designed to handle very large images; ideally, it wouldn't need to load the whole image in memory in order to display it. The exact idea is being able to peruse very large JPEG files, such as satellite photos (which are easily 10000x10000 pixels) at 1:1 or similar magnification without having to wait for the whole image to be loaded in memory. Eye of Gnome has been performing nicely once the image is loaded (I have seen 12000x12000 px TrueColor images at 1:1 or 1:2 with decent responsiveness, and I definitely didn't have enough free RAM to hold the whole uncompressed image), but it is often *very* slow to load). Any ideas?
Thanks a lot - andvaranaut
