Are there suppose to be MySQL processes that don't stop?

When I do top on my MySQL server I get this:

Code:
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
13822 mysql3 16 0 897M 614M 607M S 18.5 30.5 2:14 mysqld
1365 mysql3 15 0 897M 614M 607M S 6.9 30.5 204:40 mysqld
1364 mysql3 15 0 897M 614M 607M S 6.7 30.5 206:38 mysqld
12321 mysql3 15 0 897M 614M 607M S 3.1 30.5 0:31 mysqld
Why do I always get two processess whose run time goes sky high? Is it because it is the main mysql process?

Thanks in advance
