apache on redhat ES3

Hello,

I mistakenly tried to build and install the latest apache version downloaded from the apache website for redhat ES3 but it has runtime errors and will not work.

Therefore, I have found out that the best method for me to upgrade the box is to use the rpm's as released by redhat.

So, how do I restore my system to whjere it was before I messed up?

Is it a case of re-installing the original rpm file e.g. rpm -Fhv httpd-2.0.46-32.ent.i386.rpm

Will this write over any files installed in the manual build?

Many thanks for any pointers.

Cheerio,
Nic.

I recently had similar prob w/ a non-redhat mysql. Anyway, rpm -qa |grep apache, you should recognize the non-redhat apachefile. Then rpm -e apachefilename

Don't force rpm installs, asking for probs. Also, when you install non-redhat apps, they don't update w/ up2date which is bad...

Good Luck
