All browsers crash when they encounter flash

Hi All
I'm a newbie about the town, Well I say newbie I've used Ubuntu now for about 4 years and as I'm sure aware its quite newbified so everything just appears to work.

Anyhow I sold my Linux box (As I was broke and needed the finances) I then managed to get my hands on an old P4 2.0GHZ with 2gb of Ram
I've upgraded the HDD from 30gb to 500gb SATA and a DVD-RW

I then decided to put the latest version of Ubuntu on there and found it to max out the CPU alot of the time with the simplest of tasks.

So scratch that, I thought I'd try the source and moved to Debian (Stable) I think the Distro version is 4.0.3 (the stable one on the site now)

So here it goes,
Fresh install nothing at all installed

Open epiphany
url h t t p : / /w w w .y o u t u b e . c o m
click any video
"You do not have the latest flash player please click here"
Click there (Meant to take you to adobe's page)

Kills browser
Tryed several more times
No error message just a total dissapearnce of the browser window

Fine I thought
Iceweasel does the same

Went to adobe's site manually downloaded and installed flash player 9
Same issue remains

Installed opera
Went to the site
Blocked by pop up's

When allowed I just get a black box where the flash should be or sometimes its just a big red x.

I'm at work at the moment, So I'm just posting to see if anyone has had a similar problem?

When I'm home I can post anymore info required.

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

The latest version of Flash causes these issues for a lot of people - try uninstalling it and grabbing a slightly earlier version.
