Web server blocks access to .log files
A cron job that belongs to root updates a log file daily. Because I want to inspect that file without logging in to the server, it also copies it to my personal pages on the site, chowning it to my account. I still can't browse it, getting a 403 error, despite it having the same owner, permissions, and stat as files I can. It turns out that modsecurity blocks access to all .log files (as well as many other extensions) - all I have to do is remove the .
