VSIFAX sending emails as old user and need to update it.

I'm a new Linux admin and one of my new clients has a setup that I'm struggling with updating the configuration.

They have one server that is running UNFORM and VSIFAX that receives customer information from their POS system and then overlay an invoice template and then fax/email/print these invoices.

Currently their VSIFAX sends these emails from a user's account, but we want to update it to send from another account.

I have found the vsisrv.ini that is supposed to control this, but as I update this file, it doesn't change the sender.

To widen my search to see if there was something else controlling this email I searched the whole system for the instance of the email which only came up with a short list of files. But even after changing these over to the new email address and rebooting the server I have checked the logs on both the email server and the vsifax logs and they both reference the old email address.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The .ini file is probably only read when the service starts. Did you restart the service (vfxsched restart) after editing the file?

Edit: I see that you did indeed restart the entire server later on. I believe VSIFAX is a commercial product. Didn't it at least come with some sort of documentation?

Yeah, I restarted the vsifax service and ended up rebooting as a last resort. That's why I'm not sure what I'm missing.

I have the documentation and it just says to edit the vsisrv.ini file. I'm lost as to way I'm not seeing a reference to this email anywhere but the log files now.

I went through the documentation last night and found a couple ways to test my configuration. So checking the VMail settings it reports the updated email as it should, but all the sm logs for VSIFAX are showing that its still sending out as the old email address.

I'm wondering if its set in this server to pass a command from the Unform program straight to the VSIFAX with a specific mail from: address that would be overwriting what I've set.

But, this also why I searched all the files on the server for the instance of the old email address.

Could it be that there is a file that isn't in clear text that has the old email in it?
