ubuntu server 10.04.4 what to uninstall for bare minimal
since the end of ubuntu 10.04.4 it has been getting increasing harder to get wol
working, so i'v decided to use ubuntu server 10.04.4 to set wol through ethtool.
i created a 1.5g part-ion in the beginning of my hard drive and installed
ubuntu server 10.04.4, it installed around 800mb. then i installed ethtool.
i would like to get it's size down as small as possible.
what i need it to do is boot, run crontab set ethtool -s eth1 wol g
and then halt. that is it.
this works!
in ubuntu-mate 16.04 i created a script to set grub2 to set boot once
ubuntu server 10.04.4. then reboot. computer reboots into the server 2 minuts
after the server starts crontab runs a script ethtool -s eth1 wol g then halt
and the computer shuts down.
wakeonlan from another computer will wake it up and grub2 boots normal.
so maybe the question is what i have to keep ?
i have attached a dpkglist file from the server
