SMTP Auth...sendmail not using
I've been trying to get SMTP Auth up and running on one of my web servers (running Fedora 7).
For some reason, Sendmail isn't activating STARTTLS, and I don't know why.
The command "service --status-all" shows dovecot, sendmail and saslauthd are all running...
dovecot (pid 7249) is running...
saslauthd (pid 9309 9308 9307 9306 9304) is running...
sendmail (pid 9735 9727) is running...
I'm not very clued up on SMTP Auth, but need to provide remote users with a way to log in their email from Outlook Express and similar. I can do this by putting their IP address in access.db, but of course that doesn't work if they're not at their regular computer or don't have a fixed IP address.
SMTP Auth would seem to be the answer, but I can't get it to work.
I think I need some expert help to get this working. Anybody willing to help me out here?
Here's output from the log of a failed send attempt from my own PC via the webserver in question:
