Setting up active directory user authentication on a samba server

Hello --

We have Samba 4.1.6-Ubuntu running on an Ubuntu 14.04.3 64-bit distribution. Access to the shares on the server have been done using local user accounts. A request was made to have authentication done using our network's Active Directory user accounts.

I want to limit access to the shares on the server to a select group of users. What is the best method available to accomplish this? Is it simply a matter of creating a local group, and then mapping it to an Active Directory group, or is there a better method?

Thanks.

Hi,

It seems to be the same concern as in this thread Samba Server help
