Question Sendmail, using php to edit relays

Hi there,

I am fairly new to linux. I am looking to setup a server that would receive e-mail for a list of domains, do some anti-virus/anti-spam on them and then send the e-mails onto the companys email server.

so lets say:

example.com are a company.

their mx record points to mail.relaymailserver.com

so when they are sent e-mail it goes to the relay server. the relay server then checks the messages and then forwards it onto mail.example.com which is the company's onsite email server.

I have been told that sendmail would be a good place to start.

I would also like if possible to be able to edit the configuration via PHP and hence be able to write the functionality into some sort of basic web based control panel.

Thanks in advance. Nathan
