samba requirements

I am a little confused as to what is actually needed when setting up samba. I am using the tdbsam method. I have what I think is a proper passdb.tdb file. But, are the smbpasswd and smbusers files needed also?

tdbsam? What's that?

Really, got no idea what that is. As far as I know, if you just want to have Windows users able to read and write a share on your linux box, you need the a recent samba package (I use 3.0.20a) and a valid config file. Here's my config file, this gives the listed Windows machines passwordless read and write access to the share on my Linux machine.

[global]

netbios name = stefan
workgroup = GOEDEHOOP10
security = share
log file = /var/log/samba.log

Hope this helped...
