samba + ldap requires bind ?

Dear All,

I am working to have a small setup in which I want user to be authenticated with Linux server (LDAP) and have printer shared among them (SAMBA + CUPS). Now I want to know in order to LDAP and SAMBA works, do we need to configure DNS (BIND) in the same machine. ???

Looking forward to hear some response,

Regards,

no. you only need it if you want to use DNS in the system and don't already have it covered.
