RHEL Subscription Renew

Hi,

In my organization RHEL licence are getting expiring in some days. Bids are continue for purchasing new subscription.

I need to know,

1) How we will get new RHEL subscription from third party vendor? In form of activation KEY or directly into RedHat online portal account?

2) whare we need to integrate this newly purchased licence? I mean in Server OS or on RedHat online account?

3) After updating new subscription, Will it affect existing installed software?

Hope my questions are cleared.

Please help me.

Thanks
Ronak

You should be raising these questions with your vendors, after all they want your business so should be more than happy to help you.

Confused as to why you're asking here, rather than asking Red Hat directly?? THEY are the ones selling the licenses and support, and know the terms. And since you already HAVE a license/support, you already then know where to purchase them, who the sales rep is, and how much it cost.

And if you're paying a third-party for Red Hat support, that is an AMAZINGLY bad idea. Go to Red Hat directly.

In this situation, I would very-frankly recommend that you purchase the subscription renewal from Red Hat, and pay the price that they specify as "a routine cost of doing business." "Cost of Goods Sold."

In my experience, you can lose a lot of money by trying to save a little money. Your organization uses "Red Hat," and that support subscription is "the reason why." So, it's just an amortizable business cost like every other. "Don't f&ck with it ..." Red Hat is a legitimate business and their paid-support model works extremely well for many satisfied customers. Purchase it directly from the vendor, and pay the price they ask. (Ideally, you would set up the renewal to be processed automatically.)
