OpenLDAP - Difference between etc/ldap.conf and etc/ldap/ldap.conf

I have installed 'ldap-auth-client' in my LDAP client machine (Ubuntu 16.04).
But there are two config files that I can find.
etc/ldap.conf
etc/ldap/ldap.conf

etc/ldap.conf has a lot of lines in it with a lot of it commented. This seems to be like a file that was generated using the configurations during install

etc/ldap/ldap.conf has very few lines with 'base','uri' parameters commented out but has the link to a TLS certificate path.

Which one should I be using?

Please read the openLDAP documentation. As with your other thread, it can clarify many things about LDAP.

One is for CLIENT configuration...the other is for SERVER configuration.
