Hi All
I used fedora12 builded mail server uning sendmail and dovecot at my home, when I at home everything are works fine, no matter I sent email to hotmail, or hotmail sent to my mail server, but I got the problem that I can't access my home server when I at office, the error messages as below:
#telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 110
-ERR Cannot connect to POP server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:110), connect error 10061
#telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 25
-ERR Cannot connect to STMP server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:25), connect error 10061
#telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 143
-ERR Cannot connect to IMAP server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:143), connect error 10061
My email settings as below
#cat /etc/mail/sendmail.cf
O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=0.0.0.0, Name=MTA

a number of things we need to know before we can help.
1. check on the localhost the ip/ports that are listening
2. do you have static ip or access using portforwarding?
Thanks for your feedback, I found that the reason is my anti-viurs caused outlook doesn't work, it's very strange, but I tried to disabled anti-virus my outlook works fine, my anti-viurs is AVAST, I still looking for any good sulation between outlook and AVAST, do you have any good idea for this issue? thanks.

i have never used avast....just avg free.
i suspect it might use a proxy in between the client and the server??
maybe post the configuration settings
