Monitoring web usage and printing

i am running a network of windows 98 workstations and windows 2000 professional on which internet connection is present and is used by all workstations. on this system, i have a shared printer configured. i want to track how many printouts are coming from every workstation as well as how much data is uploaded / downloaded by each workstation. i have tried and found that in windows there is no such facility so i am going to use red hat linux 9 for the same. what do i need to do to configure such options?

well, it wouldnt be an easy task for you if you havent used Linux before. Please dont use RH9, use something more newer. FC5 or CentOS.
The programs you would want to look into are MRTG and Cups.
Cups would help you in determining the number of printouts by each workstation and MRTG would show you bandwidth graphs and all.
then again, it wouldnt be very easy if you are new to linux.
