perhaps you might care to mention what the issue was and how it was solved for those with similar issues who might read this thread when they search :-)

One command is necessary:

# authdaemond start

OS -- debian etch

P.S.

You must create maildir with command "maildirmake" not with "mkdir".

I don't wanna create a new topic, so I attached to this:

Now I can send email, but I can't receive. Why? Maybe some ports that are needed aren't forwarded by router? These ports are forwarded:

Starting Nmap 4.11 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2008-05-20 15:48 EEST
Interesting ports on localhost (127.0.0.1):
Not shown: 1670 closed ports
PORT STATE SERVICE
22/tcp open ssh
25/tcp open smtp
80/tcp open http
110/tcp open pop3
143/tcp open imap
465/tcp open smtps
993/tcp open imaps
995/tcp open pop3s
3128/tcp open squid-http
3306/tcp open mysql

Any advices?

Well..I can't receive emails on root@example.com but on the other users I can. Log file:

2008-05-20 16:36:35 1JyS15-000238-Br <= XXXXXXX@gmail.com H=fg-out-1718.google.com [72.14.220.159] P=esmtp S=1938 id=5bbcd8bc0805200635y1476c07bv9b58fd7ef2889625@mail.gmail.com
2008-05-20 16:36:35 1JyS15-000238-Br => USERNAME <root@YYYYY.com> R=local_user T=maildir_home
2008-05-20 16:36:35 1JyS15-000238-Br Completed

When I send email to my server to user root, that sent email gets other user "USERNAME" not root. Where was my mistake? Or this isn't a mistake?
